Cleaning
Prepare for longterm storage by thoroughly cleaning your RV. Gather necessary cleaning supplies including RV-specific wash and wax, brushes, sponges, microfiber cloths, buckets, ladder, and a hose. We have wash stations available to you to use at all Century Boat and RV locations. Start by decluttering your RV. Remove and take with you any unnecessary items from the interior. Remove all garbage and food from your refrigerator. Areas to focus on in the interior of your RV are the kitchen, bathroom, ventilation, and living area. Make sure to keep any windows or vents you have open when using cleaning supplies.
Interior
Kitchen: Remove all food from your fridge and wipe down the inside. Next clean your oven, stovetop, and disinfect countertops. Don’t forget to wipe down the inside of any cabinets or additional appliances you may have.
Bathroom: Disinfectant shower, toilet, sink, and bathroom floor.
Living area: Wipe down any surfaces and furniture you have. Vacuum floors and clean windows. You can take any sheets, pillows, and comforters with you and clean them to be returned when you take your RV back out of storage.
Exterior
Roof: If you are comfortable washing the top of your RV and using a ladder, wash the roof first, using a ladder and appropriate cleaning solution. Work from top to bottom. If you are not comfortable using a ladder, find a local RV cleaning service to help you with the cleaning process.
Sides: Wash the sides of the RV, section by section, using soapy water. Make sure you completely rinse each area of your RV, without leaving any soap residue on the vehicle.
Tires: Clean your RV tires with a tire cleaner.
Windows: Use a window cleaner to clean your windows. Use a squeegee to make this process easier.
Waxing: Apply a layer of RV-specific wax to protect the exterior.
